I joined Frenkel Topping in March 2021, as an apprentice business administrator becoming an FS administrator in February 2023. My current role involves completing tasks such as withdrawals and engagements, filing, handling incoming and outgoing post and carrying out printing and scanning.
I have always wanted to work in the finance/administration industry, and Frenkel Topping offered this and much more. In my time at Frenkel Topping so far, I can honestly say I have enjoyed everything about my role, and that it has already taught me some valuable life skills that will doubtless prove useful in my future life and career.
I recently qualified as a Financial Adviser in August 2020 but have been working in financial services for over 10 years.
I spent the early part of my career in complaints, eventually becoming Executive Complaints Manager in the banking industry and have since worked at a range of Financial Advice firms, including one of the country’s largest and oldest investment houses.
It has been almost 3 years since I began working with clients who have received a legal settlement and I have been involved with all stages of litigation, supporting clients, trustees and legal professionals. I have worked closely with one of the largest personal injury solicitors in the UK and have extensive experience dealing with Clinical and Medical Negligence, Serious Injury and Court of Protection specialists.
I joined Frenkel Topping in January 2022 and feel privileged to be able to continue to work with clients who are in receipt of lifechanging settlements.
I am passionate about making Financial Advice available and accessible to everyone, no matter their experience or background, and I aim to provide well rounded, fair and clear advice to my clients and their families both now and for the rest of their lives.
It is very important to me that my clients trust that their financial circumstances are being well managed and have an adviser that they can talk to about anything.
Along with the expertise offered by the wider team, I can help clients with long term planning and investing for the future, without taking any unnecessary risks.
I first joined Frenkel Topping in May 2019 as a trainee paraplanner and became a client support executive February 2020.
My day-to-day responsibilities involve managing the diary of Client Director, Elen Davies-Kay, we work together to provide an all-round service to her clients which includes report writing, valuation reports, and dealing with their day-to-day queries.
I have been working in financial services for over six years and have completed my RO1, RO4, LP2, and FA1.
I was invited to attend an interview at Frenkel Topping and once I heard about the exciting ventures they had planned and the work they do for vulnerable clients I was excited to join the team.
Frenkel Topping differs from most financial services practices as they work within the niche market of personal injury clients. For me this makes the job far more rewarding, knowing that we are contributing towards the wellbeing of clients that really need our help and making their lives a little easier.
I joined the Frenkel Topping Group in December 2021 following over 10 years of marketing and business development with the legal industry.
My previous career in costs recovery services has given me a unique insight into the workings of legal practices. During this time I have successfully identified, developed and managed opportunities within the personal injury, clinical negligence and court of protection market.
I was proud to be joining FTG at an exciting time for the group, the opportunities available to progress in my career and to broaden my horizons within the legal services sector. Professionally I was impressed with The Frenkel Topping Charitable Foundation which is a saving grace for individuals and their families who have experienced life-changing injury or clinical negligence but were unable to secure financial support following the incident.
I enjoy being part of a team who are renowned for their expertise and knowledge but also their empathy and compassion to help people who are experiencing a difficult time in their lives. I’m grateful to be involved in a company whose values are reflected throughout the group supporting lawyers and their clients throughout the litigation journey.
I joined the business in February 2019 as Expert Witness Administrator and became a graduate associate in October 2020.
As a member of the expert witness team, my day-to-day work consists of assisting the expert witness consultants in preparing expert reports such as pension loss, loss of earnings and loss of dependency. The aim of our reports is to quantify the client’s loss which they have suffered as a result of personal injury or clinical negligence.
I hold a law degree which has really helped with my understanding of the litigation process, especially as I studied clinical negligence modules which boosts my understanding of my role, and the wider role of the company. I am currently studying towards exams for my Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning.
The thing that attracted me most to Frenkel Topping is that the improvement and progression of the staff is one of their main priorities. As someone who joined as an administrator, I have experienced first hand how Frenkel Topping go above and beyond to put their staff on the path they need to be on to become successful in the industry.
The work I do is important to me because, beyond the numbers and the words on the page, it is making a huge impact on someone’s life for the better. That provides great job satisfaction at the end of the day.
I joined Frenkel Topping in February 2008 as a junior administrator. Over the years I have worked in the pre-settlement expert witness team and post-settlement financial services team within the company.
I am currently a review consultant, which includes maintaining ongoing client relationships, reviewing the ongoing suitability of client investments, assessing capacity for loss and attitude-to-risk profile, and completing various cashflow modelling scenarios.
I am a chartered financial planner, and I enjoy working at Frenkel Topping as it allows me to help vulnerable clients when they need it most. Dealing with people who have suffered personal injuries means we meet them when they are at a crossroads in their life and trying to get back to some sort of normality post-accident. A lot of people I meet never expected to need a financial adviser, so we help them to make sense of their future finances and put a road map in place for them to enjoy their lives to the fullest.
I joined Frenkel Topping in August 2020 as a financial services administrator, which requires processing recommendation reports, liaising with providers to invest clients’ monies, coordinating with fund managers to action withdrawal requests, and answering and resolving any client issues and queries .
Prior to this role, I have worked in administration for many years. The admin team plays an integral part in any business, linking the supplier to the end user and vise-versa. Having that experience in dealing with both ends of the supply chain is beneficial in providing a knowledgeable, efficient, and truly professional service to the clients.
Frenkel Topping is an IFA with a difference. It’s not just about managing and increasing wealth, but helping clients who have endured accidents and injuries. I hope that we can take that little bit off their plate, and give them one less thing to worry about.
I joined Frenkel Topping as Group Director of Business Development in March 2021, following 14+ years in the legal industry.
I am responsible for the Business Development team, where I oversee the development of the Frenkel Topping Group and each of the its individual brands. Day to day, I review and implement strategic opportunities at group level, presenting to the board and then assisting the team in executing development operations.
My background includes experience in all types of litigation funding, insurance products and specific scheme building, with a particularly strong skillset in the PI/CN market.
The range of businesses within the Frenkel Topping Group gives a variety of opportunities to work with. I relish the challenge of growing the businesses and working with the team and consultants to provide a platinum service to our clients.
The Frenkel Topping Group is a hugely successful business with great growth potential and reputation, as well as a fantastic team. I was particularly drawn to the Group by their genuine concern for clients – always putting the end client at the forefront of everything they do. I was delighted to be asked to join the team.
In my spare time, I’m a keen golfer, I still play hockey at a reasonable level and I enjoy watching most sports. I have started running frequently and have a marathon to complete later this year! I like to travel and experience nice food with the wife and am also a proud father.
I joined the business in October 2020 as an Assistant Accountant and I provide support to the Group’s central Finance function. My key responsibilities include the preparation of monthly management accounts, compiling and maintaining financial records and responding to any finance related queries as and when they arise.
I have 3+ years’ experience working within a busy Finance department; prior to joining Frenkel Topping I worked at a large corporate law firm as a Legal Cashier. At Present, I am part way through my ACCA studies – the aim is to be a qualified accountant by 2023!
So far, one of the best things about working for Frenkel Topping is the fantastic support available to employees. After only recently joining the business, I had the opportunity to develop professionally through the continuation of my ACCA studies – and just two months after my start date I sat and passed an important exam.
It’s great working for a company that’s clearly so enthusiastic about the services it provides and the support it offers to Clients.
I was attracted to Frenkel Topping because I know they are a highly respected business, and they are widely recognised for the work they do in helping vulnerable people plan for the future. After University, I wanted to combine my passion for business with my desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives.
I joined Frenkel Topping as part of the Graduate Scheme in 2021, spending time in various departments to fully understand how the business operates. I completed my Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in March 2023, and I am currently undertaking additional exams to achieve Chartered status.
I provide specialist financial planning and investment advice to vulnerable clients including investment management, tax planning, cashflow analysis and retirement planning. As part of my role, I give ongoing advice to existing clients post settlement to support their changing requirements to help them throughout their lives.
One of my school friends suffered a catastrophic injury as a very young child which resulted in a double amputation. I have therefore witnessed, over a long period of time, how he has been able to develop and lead a fulfilling life thanks to the support of his loving family and the professional network around him. I am therefore proud to be part a team who make a real difference to people who have suffered life-changing injuries.
I joined Frenkel Topping as a senior investment administrator in October 2011, and took up my current position in May 2016. My role requires me to review existing Frenkel Topping clients and provide them with appropriate financial advice, have a solid understanding of the current investment markets and communicate this to my clients, and manage client appointments, keeping up to date with all relevant paperwork, legislative and technical changes within the financial world.
I hold a Diploma in Financial Advice, CII Financial Planning Certificate (financial protection), STEP Trust and Estate Accounting Certificate, and an Investment Management Certificate.
I previously held a role as a senior trust administrator and business support officer. This position required me to provide assistance and technical knowledge to trust consultants with regard to trust investment products. I would also facilitate the transfer of assets into portfolios, complete investment reviews, and administer power of attorneys and trusts including discretionary life interest, gift and loan, discounted gift trust and bare trusts. The job also entailed engaging with beneficiaries, solicitors, estate agents and professional bodies.
What first struck me on my arrival at Frenkel Topping was the warm welcome I received from the receptionist and other staff. The company had a friendly atmosphere and family feel. I feel very lucky to have this job and to be able to help people, not only from a financial perspective but to be able to care about their personal circumstances too.
I joined Frenkel Topping in August 2020, as a Personal Injury Trust Administrator, and they moved to the Commercial Team when they were expanding the team.
I am responsible for managing the enquiries inbox, logging all cases and making sure clients have access to the correct services we provide, from Welfare Benefits, Trusts, Expert Witness reports to our financial services team.
In previous roles during my working career I have been keen to develop my Business Administrative and Customer Service skills. I’ve always looked for opportunities that allow me to develop in these areas. In a previous position, I worked for a medical practice which was varied and fulfilling and, allowed me to interact with a variety of people all of whom had a story to tell!
When the position came up for Frenkel Topping, I was particularly drawn to the role, as I would be looking after clients who would have sadly experienced some form of personal injury. It would allow me to utilise my customer service skills, especially those gained at the medical practice.
I enjoy every minute and no two days are the same. All the team are very friendly and are on hand to offer support and guidance.
I joined FTL as an admin assistant in February 2012 and took on my current Manager role in January 2020.
A typical day involves ensuring that the various requests placed upon the FS team are picked up and dealt with in a timely fashion, as well as using my knowledge and experience to be a point of reference for the team. I also train the team on all aspects of the role to make sure that we have as wide a knowledge base as possible.
After 12 years in business banking with Barclays I took voluntary redundancy and was made aware of an opportunity at FTL by my colleague James Bunby. I entered the business as an administrator, then progressed to senior administrator, team leader and manager, and following the 2020 restructure I was given the FS Manager role.
As soon as I researched what FTL was, I really wanted to join as I saw it as a great way of furthering my career whilst helping vulnerable clients and their families. We have a good group of people that see the bigger picture. We are aware that providing the services we do might seem simple or mundane to us at times, but to a client it could mean we have assisted with a huge change to their lives. I think that we should always try to remember that.
I joined Frenkel Topping in January 2014 as a report writer. My role involves supporting my consultant and her panel of customers, while additional tasks include writing financial reports, researching funds, supporting new members of staff, answering client queries and liaising with solicitors.
I hold FPC 1, 2, and 3, CF2, FA1 and R05 qualifications.
At Frenkel Topping I feel we always put the client first in everything we do. The majority of our customers have suffered a catastrophic event in their life and Frenkel Topping is there from the initial introduction all the way through their lives.
I am very lucky as my role is to help to put in place financial plans for people who have had such catastrophic injuries, so that we can ensure we provide them with the best life possible.
Over the last four years I have dedicated my career to helping customers in various roles, all of which have been client-facing, whilst providing end-to-end support ensuring clients receive the best possible service and resolve.
When I saw the position with Frenkel Topping I was keen to learn more about the Client Relationship Team. I was looking for a new challenge that would give me both job satisfaction and plenty of opportunity to speak with clients and provide my support.
Since starting in my position, I believe my previously acquired skills and customer support experience will be a good asset to the team, as I thrive on going above and beyond for my team and the clients.
I am a welfare benefits specialist providing expert advice and guidance on a range of issues including disability and sickness benefits, Universal Credit, personal injury payments, benefits for people from abroad, tax credits, support with housing costs, and benefits for people receiving care services.

My role includes supporting the development of the team whilst ensuring an excellent quality of service for our clients. I am responsible for preparing and delivering up to date training sessions for solicitors and other professionals, completing financial assessments to ensure income maximisation and providing a full casework service. This includes supporting clients in the benefit application process, preparing mandatory reconsiderations, and representing clients at appeal tribunal. I also prepare reports regarding entitlement for clients who lack capacity, ensuring that their Court of Protection appointed Deputies meet their requirements as set by the Office of Public Guardian.
After graduating from Durham University, I began my career in a busy Local Authority welfare rights team, providing advice to families in hardship throughout the city. I also managed a regular advice surgery at a Chinese community centre and spent time as an officer on the Local Authority’s emergency assistance scheme, providing aid to residents applying for urgent help. I have experience of completing financial assessments for clients receiving care and support services. Following university, I achieved an NVQ Level 4 in Advice and Guidance.
With the introduction of welfare reform, the benefit system has become increasingly complex, and many people are at risk of financial hardship due to the changes implemented. It is so important for me to feel that I am making a contribution to improving the lives of others, and working at Frenkel Topping allows me to do that in a practical way.
I joined Frenkel Topping in 2013 as a post-settlement administrator, progressing to my current role in February 2020.
My main role is to supervise the team and the workload of administrators and client services executives to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department. I ensure all work is allocated, any problems or issues are dealt with, and training and guidance is given.
I have worked in financial services since 2003, and hold a CISI Introduction to Financial services Level 1 qualification.
I wanted to continue my career in financial services after moving back to Manchester. On researching Frenkel Topping’s work and client base, it really stood out from other IFAs. In my own work here I genuinely feel that I am making a difference and helping to provide financial security to the clients we provide a service for.
I have a special interest in advising and supporting people who have acquired brain injuries as well as people with other disabilities and/or health problems, and people from a range of other vulnerable groups.
I joined Frenkel Topping in 2013 and I work within their Welfare Benefits Team. The welfare benefits system is increasingly complicated with on-going reforms. I provide advice to clients, their families and to Deputies.
My experience also includes working as a specialist welfare benefits advisor at Bolton Citizens Advice Bureau and working as a solicitor in personal injury and private client teams. I have also spent many years volunteering as an advisor at the Citizens Advice Bureau in Wigan and Chorley and I am currently a volunteer and trustee at Headway Preston and Chorley.
As part of my gap year, I fundraised and organised a three month trip volunteering for a development charity in Uganda called Madventurer.
